简介：HenryGoodman(born23April1950)isaBritishtheatreactor.HetrainedatRADAinLondonalongsideJonathanPryce.In1988,heplayedGeorgeGreen`sbrother-in-lawCyrilinLondon`sBurning.HeplayedcharacterrolesinepisodesofthepopularUKpolicedramaTheBill.HewontheOlivierawardforBestActorin1993forhisroleinStephenSondheim`smusicalAssassinsandin2000forhisroleasShylockinTheMerchantofVenicedirectedbyTrevorNunn.Otherrolesinclude:WintergreeninOfTheeISing(London1996-concertstaging),BillyFlynninChicago(London1997)andBuddyinFollies(London2002).HetookoverforNathanLaneintheBroadwayproductionofTheProducersin2001,buthisinterpretationofMaxBialystockmetwiththedisfavouroftheproducersoftheshowandhewasreplacedbyLane`sunderstudyBradOscarintherolebeforehecouldbeseenbyreviewers.HeplayedtheleadroleofTevyeinLindsayPosner`s2007revivalofJosephStein`sFiddlerontheRoof,andin2008playedtheleadcharacterintheradioserialTheWayWeLiveRightNow.Hetookpartinthe2009LondonrevivalofDuetforOnewithJulietStevenson.Inthe2009film,TheDamnedUnited,heplayedthesuaveJewishbusinessmanMannyCussins,chairmanofLeedsUnited.In2010heplayedtheroleofSirHumphreyApplebyinthestageversionofYes,PrimeMinister[3]attheChichesterFestival[4]GielgudTheatre,inLondon`sWestEndfrom17September2010.[5]Inthe15thApril2011issueofPrivateEyeGoodmanwascategorisedasa`Luvvie`forhiscommentsonacting.
